Resolutions: New Year Classics

December 30, 2016 by

So it’s that time of the year again, when you make resolutions to yourself, to your family, to Gods for becoming a better person!

This is exactly what we have been doing for hundreds and thousands of years now. Even the ancient Romans and Greeks used to make promises to God at the beginning of every New Year.

For the 21st century people, these promises mostly account for shedding extra pounds, leading a healthy more time lifestyle, dedicating to their family and friends. While some of us have already jotted down their list of new year resolutions, some are still under the pressure of deciding upon the right resolutions!

And here’s the little help you need to get past making your list!

Start with your own self!

When you don’t take care of yourself, you can’t take care of anybody else. To be a better friend, a better child, a better parent, a better partner; you need to better yourself! So bury down your resentments and worries with the ending 2016 and start out afresh. If you need some motivation, then there’s nothing better than a yoga class. If you seek more fun and refreshment, then think of spending the night out with your friends. There’s nothing in the world that ‘a dance with my best friend’ can’t fix.

More family time!

When our loved ones complain to us about spending quality time with them, we just have one classic excuse “I don’t have time right now”! Our modern lives have made us so busy that we fail to count upon our priorities. This time, make your first resolution to make your family your priority no. 1! Family meetings are an excellent ways to stick to your 1st January plan. Play some game or plan a dinner date with the whole family.

Tickle your funny bones more!

Laughter and happiness paves the way for positivity into your life. When you are feeling your best, you can give your 200% to everything you do.  As a ‘spoon of sugar makes the medicine go down more easily’, similarly a laugh makes every worry bury down more easily. So my dear, lighten up yourself and shine up a little brighter.

If you have also prepped up your new year resolution list, then do share it with us in the comment section below.

Best of luck for your resolutions! And a Happy New Year!
